This guy was roadside as I drove the kids to school this morning. He was standing along Bergen Peak Drive, about 1/4 mile from the house. He was keeping watch over 10 or so cows, who were on the left side of the car grazing on the other side of the road.
Beats dealing with road rage-filled drivers on I-25!
Wow, handsome fellow. I'm sure living up there you've observed elk plenty, but I found it was a lot more interesting than I expected. They're interactive and "talk" a lot. The young ones play around like all young do. And I remember laughing watching cows avoiding a buck all over a hill, not in the mood I guess.
